Complete Position Announcement | Job Description
Each year Mantor Library sponsors a reading program, On Our Minds. Our program goal is to get everyone reading the same book and to offer the campus community an opportunity to talk with one another about the book, reflect on the theme, and come away from the experience having learned something about ourselves and others.
This year the library is pleased to announce the book for our On Our Minds 2009 reading program is Mountains Beyond Mountains, by Tracy Kidder. If you've already read this book and are interested in similar books, our alternate selections are Leaving Microsoft to Change the World, by John Wood and Three Cups of Tea, by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.
To promote some of the new and exciting features Mantor Library has been adding over the past few months, we've created a series of Public Service Announcements that are running on WUMF, the university's radio station. Some of them are simple announcements read by the DJs, but three are prerecorded productions. Click on one of the following links to check them out:

Have you seen the READ posters around
campus featuring the UMF Beaver and Professor Quackenbush? Wish
you could have one of your own? Both posters are available in
PDF format in two sizes.
The display case on the third floor features different
exhibits weekly. UMF faculty, staff, and student organizations have priority in use
of the display case, but consideration will be given to community organizations whose
display is of historical or literary interest. Each display remains for one week,
from Monday to Sunday. The sponsoring organization should be prominently identified
with the display. To reserve the display case, contact Janet Brackett, Head of
Access Services at 778-7211 or via email at janetb@maine.edu.
