Buros: The Mental Measurements Yearbook, 1938-2001.  (Ref. Z 5814 P8 B932)

Covers standardized measurements in English-language and includes information about each test with a statement of reliability and validity (does not include a copy of the tests).

 

Tests: A Comprehensive Reference for Assessments in Psychology, Education, and Business  (Ref. BF 176 T43, 1983-2003)

Information on over 3,000 published English-language tests, including a brief description, purpose, administering and assessing, cost and availability.  No critical evaluations.

 

Test Critiques  (Ref. BF 176 T419 v. 1-10)

Critical reviews of commercial tests used in psychological assessment, business and education. Supplements Mental Measurements Yearbook.

 

Tests in Print  (Ref. Z 5814 E9 B8 & Ref Z 5814 E9 T47)

An index to commercially available tests, test reviews, and literature on specific test.  Serves as the cumulative index to Mental Measurements Yearbook.

CRESST  (http://www.cse.ucla.edu/)

The National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing is affiliated with UCLA and does research on important topics related to K-12 educational testing.  The site includes professional research reports, sample assessments, and a useful list of related links.

 

Education World – National and State Standards (http://www.education-world.com/standards/)

A well-organized page that provides links to national education standards by subject and state standards by state or subject.

 

ENC (http://www.goenc.com/)

Formerly Eisenhower National Clearinghouse, this resource provides access to best mathematics and science curriculum resources on the Internet.  Information about standardized testing, educational assessment, and related topics are included.  Subscription required.

 

ETS Research (http://www.ets.org/research/)

A private organization that develops tests and assessment tools.  This site includes a list of current research reports about issues and new developments in educational testing.  There is a charge for some of the reports, but others have ERIC Document numbers and may be obtained through ERIC.

 

FairTest: The National Center for Fair & Open Testing (http://www.fairtest.org/)

The website of an advocacy organization working to prevent standardized testing from serving as a cultural, racial, or gender barrier to opportunities.  Has fact sheets and a quarterly newsletter.

 

Learning Disabilities Online – Assessment (http://www.ldonline.org/ld_indepth/assessment/assessment.html)

A website is focused on resources about special needs and learning disabled, but includes some resources on high-stakes assessment on its Assessment topic page.  Some full-text articles are also available in LD In Depth through the Research Digest option.

 

Maine.gov – K-12 Education (http://www.maine.gov/portal/education/k12.html)

The Maine state government web page for education information, including state standards and assessment.

 

National Association of Secondary School Principals (http://www.principals.org/s_nassp/sec.asp?CID=326&DID=47126)

Section of the NASSP’s website with reports and information about testing and assessment.  Other sections of the website have publications are articles, but require membership for access.

 

No Child Left Behind (http://www.NoChildLeftBehind.gov/)

Focused on the issues addressed by the No Child Left Behind legislation.  Includes articles and information on assessment and testing, FAQs on testing and assessment, graphs and statistics, and resources.

 

Practical Assessment, Research and Evaluation (PARE) http://pareonline.net/)

Online peer-reviewed journal of assessment and research.

 

Thomas B. Fordham Foundation (http://www.edexcellence.net)

A website for an organization that supports educational reform. Includes publications, weekly bulletin board, and a section on Standards, Tests, and Accountability.

 

U.S. Department of Education (http://www.ed.gov/)

A government website that has news, resources, research and statistics, and other issues regarding education.  Includes links to reports and information on assessment and testing.
