On Our Minds: Events Calendar
October 7, 2009: Iranian Lunch--Mantor Library and ARAMARK present an Iranian Feast as part of the On Our Minds reading program. Executive Chef Boyd Scott will be making dishes from the recipes of Nahid Dalpour (wife of UMF Professor Waleck Dalpour). The menu will include stews (fesenjen and ghormeh sabzi), a vegetarian rice dish (sabzi polo), kebobs, salads (stuffed grape leaves and salade olivieh), flatbread, desserts (baklava and a “stars and stripes” cake – to find out why, read the book!), and an Iranian drink or two (like doogh).Olsen Student Center, South Dining Hall

October 27, 2009 @ 6:00pm: Immigration Presentation--There seems to be a popularly held belief that all you need to do to become an American citizen is marry an American. Is it really that simple? What steps exactly are involved? Come find out from a couple who went through the entire process. (Hint: It's harder than you think!) Refreshments will be served.
