Copyright and Fair Use in the Classroom:  A mini tutorial that explains copyright and fair use as it applies in a nonprofit educational classroom.

Basic Information for Students Using the Mantor Library:  A brief summary of what students need to access library resources (especially useful for faculty teaching short courses during the semester breaks or Summer Institute courses with students who are not enrolled in a degree program).

Assigned Librarians:  A list of the librarians assigned to all the First Year Seminar and Composition as Seminar courses for Fall 2008.

Peter Mills Electronic Classroom

To book a library instruction session in the library's Peter Mills Electronic Classroom, please contact Laurie MacWhinnie (778-7219 or macwhinn@maine.edu). Reservations must be made in advance. For more information on the use of the PMEC, please see the policy.

  Course Reserves

Reserve material must be accompanied by a completed course submission form, item list(s), and course syllabus.  Any student work must be accompanied by a signed and dated consent form, specifically granting permission for the material to be placed on course reserve.  All required forms are available at the Access Services Desk.  

For your convenience, you may also download and print the necessary forms from below.   Completed forms must be submitted to the Access Services Department, along with items for reserve.

  Forms

Faculty/Teaching Staff Request for Resource Purchase: This form is for the use of UMF faculty and teaching staff who wish to request that the Mantor Library purchase a resource (book, CD, DVD) to be put on reserve for or used by students in a specific course. (For general purchase recommendations, please use the library's online Acquisitions Request form.) A sincere effort will be made to acquire the material if it is appropriate for the library collection and the budget allows.

If you would like to add any of your students' work to the University's archive collection, all submissions must be sent to Laurie MacWhinnie, Head of Reference Services. The following forms must be completed and signed by the student and accompany the item being submitted:
