How to Access E-Reserves
-
From the Mantor Library home page, choose URSUS.
-
From the URSUS home page, choose Course
Reserves, either by Course Name or by Instructor.
a. To search by Course Name, you will need the
three-letter subject designation and the course number – e.g. HTY 103 or the
exact title of the course. If more than one course is displayed, be sure to
choose the one with the “FAR” designation.
b. To search by Instructor, enter last name
first. Some instructors have reserve lists for more than one course; if your
search yields listings for more than one course, be sure to choose the right
one.
-
Once you have located the correct course page,
you will see a list of reserved material, with the titles on the left in blue,
and the location (Far Reserves, Far EReserves), the physical description (xerox
in folder, PDF file, videocassette, MP3 file, JPEG), and the status on the
right. Items with a location of Far EReserves are available electronically.
-
To access an electronic document, click on the
title (in blue). You will be prompted to click on the URL for electronic
access; clicking on this will bring you to a page that prompts for a password,
and asks you to read and agree to a copyright compliance statement. Once you
enter the password provided by your instructor, you will be taken to a page
with the electronic reserve listings for the course.
-
Click on the desired title and the file will
open. In order to access EReserves, cookies must be enabled on your computer.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open PDF files. For audio files,
software such as Windows Media Player or RealPlayer will be necessary. Library
computers are not equipped with speakers, so if you wish to access audio files
from a Library computer, you will need headphones. You may bring your own, or
borrow some at the Access Services Desk (you will need to leave your student
ID). Please use the computers in the Peter Mills Electronic Classroom to
access audio files.
If you have questions or problems with
EReserves, please see a librarian.
