Director's Message
Welcome to Mantor Library at the University of Maine at Farmington. The library’s primary function is to help you be successful in locating information for your classes. We do this by supporting faculty research, teaching students how to locate and evaluate information, and providing resources to make your searching successful.
We do not own every resource in the world, but our staff can help you find and get just about any information resource available. We will work with faculty and students individually or in groups—whatever works best to fit your needs.
The library is a pretty comfortable place—you can bring a soda and sandwich with you as you curl up in one of our comfy chairs or lounge on one of our couches. There are private and group study areas to fit your needs, as well.
My hope is that you use the library’s resources to increase your knowledge at UMF, and my goal is to help you become a thoughtful consumer of the mass of information that is available. If you have any requests or comments about our services or facilities, please feel free to contact me—I don’t even mind passing on compliments to the staff. Enjoy your time on campus, and let me know if you need anything from the library.
Sincerely,
Frank Roberts
